In today’s world, toxins are everywhere. The chemicals used to purify water, the household cleaners you use everyday, the hormones used to make livestock bigger, and the insecticides used to help plants survive and grow are just some of the places toxins are found. Whether you ingest them or just breathe them in, toxins affect us on a daily basis and thousands of new toxins are introduced into our environment every year. Here are some ways that you can cleanse your body of these toxins and to help yourself feel better and cleaner every day.

Eat the Right Foods

The more organic foods you can purchase, the better. Going organic is a little more expensive and there are fewer options, but the health benefits are unquantifiable. A large percentage of the toxins that we bring into our bodies enter directly through our food and water sources, and organic products are one way to lessen their prevalence.

Sleep, Sleep, and more Sleep

Sleep has been linked to every possible health benefit known to man, but who has time for it? The way that sleep helps you to cleanse your body of toxins is that it is connected to weight loss, it reduces stress and cortisol levels, and it can be a way for your body to “reset” in your attempt to detox. Increased toxin levels can be connected to almost everything that sleep fights against, so the more you sleep, the easier it will be for you to cleanse your body of toxins.

Stretching and Exercise

Exercise is one of the best ways to rid your body of toxins. Sweat alone takes out waste from your body and toxins are one of the major things that are released in this process. On top of that, stretching and exercise increases the rate of blood flow which allows your body to rid itself of the toxins present. If you are in an environment where exercise is impossible, take stretch breaks throughout the day to get your blood flowing and your body moving.

Drink Enough Water

Water is the key to almost any plan involving your health. The more water you drink, the more opportunities your body has to rid itself of toxins. In fact, as water enters cells and organs, it actually carries away some of the toxins found there. The best thing you could do is to drink a large glass of water when you first wake up, and then repeat that throughout the day. You have heard that 60 ounces of water per day is necessary for a healthy lifestyle. In my experience, double that and you will begin cleansing your body of unwanted toxins while not giving your body room to fill up on new ones.

Pay Attention to Labels and Ingredients

When is the last time you checked the label on your common household cleaners. Next to food and drink, the next most common way that toxins enter our bodies are through the products that we use around our homes. Consider using plant based and organic cleaning products rather than the normal household cleaners that use chemicals to disinfect and to whiten. As research continues to improve and we continue to focus on these chemicals specifically, it is clear that a change is needed.

Conclusion

Toxins can be found almost anywhere and none of us are immune to their effects. The best we can do is to fight against them, prepare our bodies for them, and do the best we can to avoid them. If you follow the five steps listed above, you will accomplish this goal and you will greatly lessen the negative effects toxins have on your body.
